UAE Wagyu Market Overview
The UAE — and Dubai in particular — is the most important wagyu market in the Middle East. Dubai's position as a global luxury hospitality hub, with hundreds of international hotel properties and a world-class fine dining scene, creates consistent high-value demand for A4 and A5 Japanese wagyu. The market is driven by luxury hotel F&B programmes, high-end steakhouses, and Japanese omakase restaurants catering to an international clientele.
All beef imported into the UAE must be Halal-certified. The certifying body must be recognised by UAE authorities. Dubai also functions as a re-export hub for wagyu distribution across the GCC — Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain are frequently supplied from Dubai cold storage.

Halal Requirements for UAE
All beef imported into the UAE must be Halal-certified by a body recognised by UAE authorities (ESMA or equivalent). The Halal certificate must accompany every shipment. Non-Halal beef cannot legally enter the UAE market.
Halal-certified Japanese wagyu is exceptionally scarce — very few Japanese slaughterhouses hold UAE-recognised Halal certification. This scarcity creates a significant supply premium and early reservation is essential, particularly around Ramadan when demand surges.
